All concerts start at 7 p.m. in front of Town Hall, 40 Center St., Fairhaven. FREE. Weather permitting. Bring a chair/blanket.

Summer Concerts Under the Pavilion
At Acushnet Public Library, 232 Middle Road, under our pavillion. Every Wed., from 6–7:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair.
• Aug 7 The Jethros realized their common destiny while collaborating in a backup band for mutual friends. Over the years, they’ve become something of a fixture in the folk music scene of New Bedford and nearby places.
• Aug 14 The Catnip Junkies
Concerts are held rain or shine. Join us under the pavilion, or in the community room in the event of rain. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Acushnet Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Support the Friends
Support your local library and take a chance on winning a cash prize this summer! The Friends of the Acushnet Public Library will be hosting its first ever 50/50 raffle, in conjunction with the library’s Wednesday evening outdoor Summer Concert Series. A winner will be drawn at the end of each Wednesday concert. The winner of the raffle will receive half of the proceeds, with the remainder retained by the Friends to fund future programs and services at the library. Tickets are $5 each (cash only) and can be purchased during the library’s Wednesday evening Summer Concert Series. A listing of the concerts can be found on the Library’s Facebook page or website (https://acupl.org). The Friends of the APL is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes library enrichment and services for the community and provides items not funded through the Town budget
Summer Concerts in the City
The City’s popular Summer Sound Series is returning for 2024, bringing a wide variety of musicians and genres to the annual series of free concerts Downtown. Every Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. through Sept. 6, with the exception of Aug. 2 due to the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament. The free concerts alternate between lower Union Street (between N. Water Street and Route 18) and Purchase Street (between Union and William streets), and feature participation from local organizations and restaurants.
• Aug. 9: Colby James and the Ramblers (Roots/Rock) – Union St
• Aug. 16: Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew (R&B/Soul) – Purchase Street
Sonata Saturdays
Symphonic sounds will weave their way through historic downtown New Bedford this summer with the return of Sonata Saturdays.
The fourth Saturday of each summer month, small groups of NBSO musicians will delight the neighborhood and summer visitors with a variety of classical and popular music performed at The Drawing Room, 22 William St., NB
Musicians will perform twice each day, with programs from 4-4:45 pm and repeating 5-5:45 pm.
• August 24: Laura Shamu, oboe and Maria Spraker, harp
• September 12: Sonata Saturday Encore on AHA! Night

Free Concerts
FirstWorks, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting art with audiences, presents free outdoor concerts at the Roger Williams Park Bandstand feature a global journey of danceable headliners, at 6 p.m., 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, RI
• Aug. 5, American A Cappella, featuring the Narragansett Bay Chorus, with special appearances by the quartets Second Nature and Street Corner, will make their debuts at Theatre By The Sea.
