Trash Fee: Where is the Money Going?
I am sure most have received their post card from BPW on the $100.00 trash and recycle fee. Seeing that the contract went up $200k which equates to $28.00 per home to cover the cost increase., where is the other $500k going to? A cute little way the Town is back filling the deficit it has run the last two years and a third one looming in the Spring of 2025.
You the voter control how the Town will proceed in the future. Nobody likes to make difficult decisions with regards to where and how available monies are spent, capital expenditures and personnel. However, leaders will lead and look to reinvent and reimagine how a business or government will strive in the future years.
If the powers to be in Fairhaven wait till next March to see where the shortfall lands they are NOT serving the employees or tax payers well.
Nothing good comes from crisis management!!!
