Vote for Competent People
Fairhaven residents, vote for competent people running for office in this election and future ones. It’s not a popularity contest. We have serious budget issues looming now and in the future., where very difficult decisions have to made to balance the budget.
Rumor has it, and I am very confident that it’s fact, that the Select Board is extending the contract of the current Town Administator.
First it is clear the TA did not want to be here seeing she applied for the same position in CT.
Secondly, we have run a deficit of 700k last year, 2.1 million this year and God knows what the deficit will be next year.
So three out five SB members with great wisdom have decided it’s the best interest to give a new contract to someone who looked for employment elsewhere and is running a deficit three years in a row.
Think long and hard on the direction of Fairhaven, your vote matters. We have serious issues and need serious people who have the intestinal fortitude to make difficult decisions. With the remaining three, who would have the majority no matter who gets elected in April, it’s clear they do not have what it takes.
