Melanson Supports Carr, Saunders
Campaigning for the position as a Select Board Member and managing our town as an executive officer is no different than that of applying for employment through the application process. We have to ask ourselves… “If it was my 60-million-dollar company, who has the knowledge and experience I would want running it?”
Each candidate’s resume must be carefully reviewed for a proven track record. Long-term years of financial and business experience. Someone who has shown leadership, innovation and knowledge in all aspects of the town. Someone who has had direct managing responsibilities of employees and understands their needs and the tools needed for them to get the job done.
We need an individual willing to be independent, stand up, speak up and be transparent to us the residents. Not be someone who just runs and votes with the crowd. We deserve no less. There is a long list of requirements but why should we expect anything less of our potential leaders?
In reviewing the applicants and their qualifications based on the above criteria, there are two candidates that stand out well above the others. I personally have decided to support and will vote for Andrew Saunders and Patrick Carr for the Select Board. They each possess a strong extensive history of financial and business leadership which will suit the town well. Their knowledge and expertise and proven leadership is exactly what the town needs as we move forward together.
We have witnessed challenging and prosperous times in our wonderful Fairhaven town. We have always come out stronger, united, and truly blessed to have a great town to live in for everyone. Your vote for the top-level job is precious, it must be earned by the candidates and not be taken for granted.
I am choosing those with strong financial and business leadership and knowledge. I would enjoy talking over coffee with anyone regarding my decisions, the progress of the Planning Board, town projects and the successes of the other boards I serve on. Feel free to reach out to me and let’s get a discussion going.
Cathy Melanson, Fairhaven
