We’ve got a touch of sno out there. But, I guess it’ll be gone, turning to rain again. Ah well. I guess I have mixed feelings about that.
Our cover shows a bunch of people who treated the unsheltered families with dignity and respect. Go figure. The week they arrived, a bunch of other people wanted us all to think that everyone hated them and hated them being here. Well, they were wrong. And the people on the cover, among others, proved the point. They did everything they could to make life easier for people who were already in a mess of a situation. That’s how it’s supposed to be, right? Congratulations, volunteers and staff members alike. You made a difference in the lives of people who were in a rought spot. That’s a good thing.
On the other hand…
The Middle School had a racist graffiti incident [heavy sigh] (see page 4). Y’know, kids learn this stuff somewhere. We really need to make sure the message gets through very clearly that this is not okay, not at all okay. And if they do figure out who it is, they should make the kid wash off every single bit of graffiti in the whole school for the rest of the school year. We may not be able to make them understand the hurtfulness of their words, but we can make them understand the pain and aggravation they cause by making them clean up their own mess.
There’s some meeting coverage in here. See Fairhaven Select Board on page 4, and Acushnet SB on page 11. More proclamations!
There’s other stuff in here of course, including a fair number of winter events coming up. Be sure to check out ALL the pages in this week’s little miracle. And while you do, please be sure to notice who our advertises are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya
