Ronald J. Medeiros, 84, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was the loving husband of 49 years to Marianne (Harkins) Medeiros.
Born in Acushnet, son of the late Joseph J. and Loretta V. (Dupuis) Medeiros, he was a longtime resident of Fairhaven. Ron was a self employed Lobsterman and former proprietor of the Pope’s Island Marina and Ronnie’s Boat Yard on Alden Road. In Fairhaven. He enjoyed working on cars in his garage, fixing and building things, fishing, his houseboat and his large neighborhood clamboils.
He is survived by his loving wife Marianne; his children, Ronald M. Medeiros and his wife Antoinette of Baltimore, MD, Joseph J. Medeiros and his fiancé Lisa Plant of Fairhaven, Melissa Medeiros of New Bedford and Melanie Medeiros of Mattapoisett; two grandchildren, Hanna Hopkins and Andrew Cote; two sisters, Winifred Sylvia and her husband Robert of Marion and Christine Gallagher of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Medeiros was the brother of the late Richard D., Timothy, Elizabeth Ann and Robert Medeiros.
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4-7pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. For memorial register or facility directions please visit, www.hathawayfunerals.com.
