Fairhaven Veterans Day Parade
Sat., 11/11, meet at 9:30 a.m., step off at 10 a.m. Parade route: Start at Benoit square along Main Street to Fairhaven High School where the big flag will be raised. In case of inclement weather, people will gather at the VFW, 109 Middle St., Fairhaven.

Al veterans are invited to march. If you are unable to march, you may ride in the Council on Aging van. Be at the COA/Senior Center, 229 Huttleston Ave. (near Stop & Shop), by 9 a.m., or call 508-979-4029.

Acushnet Veterans Ceremony
The Town of Acushnet will hold Veterans Day ceremony on Saturday, 11/11 at the Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street at Pope Park (99 Park Avenue, Acushnet).
Events begin at 9:50 a.m. with a series of march tunes from the branches of the military.
Activities include the raising of the flag, the national anthem by the Ford Middle School chorus; excerpt from a Civil War letter; the laying of the wreath; and several musical performances.
If weather permits, the Coast Guard will fly over the site at abouit 10:15 a.m.
The town will also treat attendees to coffee and donuts.
New Bedford Parade
New Bedford’s Veterans Day Parade, which will take place on Saturday, 11/11, will form at the intersection of Rockdale Avenue and Union Street, in Buttonwood Park, beginning at about 10 a.m. and stepping off at 11 a.m.
The parade will march east on Union Street to County Street, then turn left and head north on County Street to William Street, then turn right onto William Street and head east to City Hall, and end at the reviewing stand in front of the New Bedford Main Library, at the intersection of Pleasant Street and William Street. An address for the end of the parade is 613 Pleasant St. in downtown New Bedford.
A Veteran’s Day service will be held at the reviewing stand following the conclusion of the parade, and all are invited to attend. Seating will be reserved near the reviewing stand for elderly veterans and veterans with disabilities.
In the case of inclement weather, there will be a service at the Fort Taber Community Center at Fort Taber Park, 1000A S. Rodney French Blvd., beginning at 12 p.m.

At The Military Museum
The 20th annual veterans appreciation weekend is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Fort Taber-Fort Military Museum, 100C Rodney French Blvd., New Bedord.
To honor our veterans, the museum will commemorate Armistice/Veterans Day weekend with special presentations. On Sat., 11/11 the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At 11 a.m, Saturday, Nov. 11, a bells of peace ceremony will commemorate the signing of the armistice that ended World War I. The armistice was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
On Sunday, Nov. 12, the museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.
At 2 p.m., a presentation about the 26th Yankee Division in the Great War will be presented by Joseph Yukna, co-founder of the Cape Cod Military Museum.
Visitors to the museum can also view the revamped display about Exercise Tiger, a rehearsal for the D-Day invasion that went tragically wrong, claiming the lives of nearly 1,000 American servicemen.
Admission to the museum and all events is free. Refreshments will be available both days.
