The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum (RJD), in partnership with the New Bedford Preservation Society, will offer a walking tour of Abolition Row on Wednesday, September 27, at 6 p.m. This free tour will explore the structures and people connected to the story of abolitionism in New Bedford. The tour will start at the Friends Meeting House which is located at 83 Spring Street near the recently opened Abolition Row Park, proceed down 7th Street, and conclude at the RJD garden with light refreshments.
Jan Da Silva will lead the tour. Da Silva is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Bedford Preservation Society and the Program Manager for Visitor Experience and Resource Stewardship at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park.
