L-R: Tom and Jane Reardon, from Michigan, pose for the local free sheet on the road to Bella Vista Island during the remnants of Hurricane Lee on 9/16/23, which pretty much turned out to be “a bit of a dud,” as Mr. Reardon said. Photo by Beth David.
Although Hurricane Lee was pretty much a dud in these parts, it was still a real storm with some impressive gusts. The water by the shore was a stormy gray and active and, well, kind of cool to look at.
Tom and Jane Reardon were visiting from Michigan to attend a wedding in Dartmouth. They rented a place on West island an took a walk along Dogwood Street near Bella Vista Island to check out the surf.
“It’s a bit of a dud,” said Mr. Reardon.
But they did realize how lucky we were to get that dud.
