Oh, Mr. DeTerra, surely you jest! Your superior morals are on display, once again, for all to see. Tsk tsk. With “ethics and morals” like that, who needs corruption? See page 4, dear readers, for yet another chapter in the Peter I’m-above-reproach-and-above-the-law DeTerra.
No, no! Say it ain’t so! School is starting next week? That can’t be right (see page 5). I still have some fishing to get in. Stop turning, ye olde clock.
Meanwhile, check out our local filmmakers’ work at a short film soiree on Friday (see page 5). Our own Alyssa Botelho is working on a new gig and she needs some community support. Admission is free, but there’ll be opportunities to donate through raffles and, of course, cash donations.
So let’s fill that town hall and support our hometown kid.
Okay, I’m making another plea for advertisers and reader support. I know I should spend more time pounding the pavement to get ads, but, this baby takes a lot of time to get to bed each week. There are only so many hours in a day. If you own a business, please consider advertising with our little weekly miracle. If you know someone who owns a business, or you go to a local business that does not advertise with us, simply mention how much you like the Neighb News and try to patronize those who advertise in our little free sheet.
Which, by the way, is not free to produce. It costs just a smidge under $750 a week (yes, WEEK, not month), just to print this baby. Then there are delivery people to pay (I’m really, really bad at delivery, so….), and other associated costs.
And, be sure to tell our current advertisers you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya
