Santa Claus helped kick off the holiday season with a grand entrance on an antique fire truck into North Fairhaven on Friday, 12/2, for the lighting of Benoit Square. Sponsored by the North Fairhaven Improvement Association, the free annual event included singing in the square by the public, led by Mrs. Claus herself, and photos with Santa in the NFIA building across the street from the gazebo. Children also received candy canes and coloring books, and had a chance to make their requests in Santa’s ear.
The Big Guy is expected to appear in Fairhaven this coming weekend for the Sing-Along at Town Hall (see page 3), and for a variety of other events in the area.
Children are warned to be good, as it is well known throughout the world that Santa Claus knows if they’ve been bad or good, and is very good at finding out if they’ve been naughty or nice.
The lights in the square are on every evening until January.
