The Green Team after-school program at the Leroy L. Wood School in Fairhaven had 21 students from Kindergarten to grade five who created a sensory garden for the community to enjoy.
The aroma-filled garden includes lemon balm, bee balm, mint, chocolate mint, catmint, dill, lavender, oregano, lambs ear, succulent, seagrass.
The plants chosen will “encourage you to use your five senses while exploring,” according to the welcome sign.
The garden is located just outside the fence of the Fairhaven Community Garden beds at LeRoy Wood School, 60 Sconticut Neck Road, Fairhaven, and is open to the public when school is not in session.
