The Fairhaven Council on Aging/ Senior Center played host to a cookout on 5/30/23 sponsored by Coastline Elderly to commemorate Memorial Day. About 40 people showed up to a enjoy lunch cooked on the grill.
“We always have a good time,” said COA Director Martha Reed.
Town officials were also on hand to answer questions about the proposed Proposition 2 1/2 override that subsequently failed. That did not sit well with everyone, with one person feeling it made the lunch political and clearly voicing her opinion. But several people did take advantage of the opportunity to get some information on how the override would affect them individually.
The override vote was held on 6/5/23 and failed 690 to 1423. See our 6/8/23 issue for details.
See page 9 for information on Senior Center programs and activities.
