AHA! Pride, Block Party, 4 pm, Custom House Square, 21 Barkers Lane. The Queer Arts Council of New Bedford presents the 5th Annual AHA! PRIDE BLOCK PARTY, a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride with a street marketplace, stage shows, art activities, and a Nightlight DJ Dance Party. Additionally, there’s a Pride After Party at the CO+ Creative Center for those who want to continue the celebration into the night. This event is supported by grants and funding from various organizations.
Rose Garden Tour, 5:30pm, Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum, 396 County Street. Rick Finneran, RJD’s Lead Gardener gives a 45-minute tour in the garden, addressing rose propagation, and the history of the neighborhood. He’ll also share his tips for drying roses. This event is free as part of AHA! night.
From the Islands with Love Concert, 6:30pm, 71 8th St (Unitarian Church). South Coast Children’s Chorus, directed by Tianxu Zhou, performs “From the Islands with Love” with Cape Verdean singer Candida Rose, presenting original and traditional songs from Cape Verde, the Caribbean, and Newfoundland. Free admission, donations accepted.
