The North Fairhaven Improvement Association’s annual egg hunt saw hundreds of participants despite a very chilly Saturday morning 4/8/23.
This year, organizers managed to send off each age group separately (well, mostly). Hunters of all ages participated, although the adults managed to let the kids pick up the eggs (well, mostly).
Michelle was there wit her children. She said it was her favorite part of Easter growing up.
“Introducing my kids to it is awesome, it’s so much fun,” she said.
Young Zachary was excited that he found a wooden, numbered egg, so he got a special gift, a Teddy Bear.
“When I go to bed, I’m going to sleep with him,” he said.
Participants hunted for plastic eggs that had goodies in them. They also collected wooden numbered eggs for special prizes. And everyone got a raffle ticket for a chance to win an Easter basket. Free hot chocolate was also a big hit, to help take the chill out.
NFIA President Pauline Parker emceed the event, Fairhaven’s Emergency Management Agency provided the sound system and helped with other logistics. Ms. Parker thanked NFIA family and friends; Barry Parker; Miss New Bedford, Tori Kalisz; Miss New Bedford Outstanding Teen, Jaime St. Onge; Vila Verde restaurant; Dorothy Cox Chocolates; Davis and Sawyer Jones; Fred and Peggy Raphael; Deb Davis; Dr. Brian Bowcock; Sara Sturtevant; Boy Scout Troop 52; EMA Larry, Stephanie, Nick.
