The Leroy L. Wood Elementary School in Fairhaven held an all-student assembly on Thursday, 11/10, to honor local veterans.
Students were encouraged to invite a family member, friend or neighbor who is a veteran or actively serving in our military.
The program included the Pledge of Allegiance, two songs, “In Service of our Country” and “Thank you Soldiers.”Six students shared letters of gratitude they wrote to veterans.
“We had over 50 veterans,” wrote principal Amy Hartley-Matteson. “It was a lovely event!”
