We’re moving along, spring is just around the corner. Next week’s issue will be March.
That means that election season is going to be in full swing. If you’re a candidate, we’re happy to run a freebie for you (see page 3). Get your statement in soon, though. We have to plan it out so we get ’em all in before the Fairhaven election on 4/3. Acushnet has a little more time. Your election is in May.
Meanwhile, we have some meeting coverage for you. Select Board is on page 4, and the budget is the thing. It looks like we are finally hitting that wall that so many have been warning about. The next few weeks should be interesting as we figure out how to close a $750K gap. Yeah…$750K. Go figure.
They were short on details at the meeting, but more should be coming out soon.
We also have some BPW coverage on page 16.
Speaking of BPW…the electric vehicle charging stations are up and running (see page 11). They are at the BPW near the bike path, and they are free to use, for now. The town got grrant money to get the cars and install the stations.
The Fairhaven school district held a food pop-up for school families. The school is making an effort to help families that need it, with all kinds of stuff. See page 13 for more on the Family Engagement Center.
The happenings and other events are picking up, including a Black History event with local ties at the Fairhven Senior Center tonight organized by the town’s Belonging Committee (see page 5).
There’s other stuff here of course. As you browse around, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then…see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
