Acushnet’s local election is on Saturday, 5/13/23. Nomination papers will be available starting on Thursday, 1/5/23.
Anyone who wants to run for office in Acushnet needs to take out nomination papers, have them signed by the proper number of registered voters, and return them by the deadline. Signatures need to be certified by the Town Clerk. Then your name can be placed on the ballot.
Last Day for Papers
The last day to take out nomination papers is Tuesday, March 21, at 5 p.m. Nomination papers are furnished only to candidates or to their representatives presenting signed authorization.
Papers must be signed by at least 42 registered voters in person.
The last day to submit nomination papers to the Board of Registrars for certification of signatures is Friday, March 24 at 5 p.m.
The last day to file objection or withdraw nomination, by filing with the town clerk, a written request over signature which has been duly acknowledged by a Notary Public, is Tuesday, April 11 at 5 p.m.
Register to Vote/Mail In Ballots
The last day to register as a voter in the town of Acushnet for the 5/13 election is Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 5 p.m.
The last day to apply for a mail-in ballot is Monday, May 8, at 5 p.m.
The election is on Saturday, 5/13/23. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All precincts vote at Acushnet Elementary School, 800 Middle Road.
