We have a delightful new addition to our Christmas lights this year at 504 Main Street in Acushnet, the Milestone Farm 1890, and home of Richard Langlois who might just come out and chat with you while you roam around.
The display is a walk-through, and there’s even parking for a few cars in the driveway that you are welcome to use. Christmas music will greet you, and a well-lit walkway will take you through the large field with Santa, his elves, lights galore, and many little surprises. Mr. Langlois said he used 50,000 lights this year, which is just a fraction of what he has. The last time they transformed the property was 14 years ago. They are back at it, and promise next year will be even bigger.
The display is lit from 6 p.m. until 8 or 9, later on the big weekend.
The house at 35 Gellette Road, with its 300,000+ lights,s is back, and, in keeping with tradition, Santa will be there this year. Look for him on Saturday 12/17, and Friday, 12/23, from 5–9 p.m. on both days. Take pictures with Santa and give him your Christmas list! Polaroid pictures are available. Enjoy complimentary refreshments. Please bring a non-perishable, non-expired food item to be donated to the Solanus Casey food pantry.
And don’t forget the Clasky Common Park in New Bedford, on the County Street end, between Pearl Street and Pope Street. It will be lit up every night until 9, until just after the new year.
Benoit Square, at the merger of Main and Adams Street, is still lit every night until 9 p.m. until January.
The lights at the Acushnet Fire Station are also lit up (Russell Street at Parting Ways).
After you visit them, be sure to drive up Main Street. There are lots of wonderful displays to see while you make your way to 504, and beyond.
Just drive around, light displays are everywhere, and some are simply spectacular.
Please be respectful of private property. Remember, they are private homes.
