On Mon., 11/7, at 6 p.m. the Acushnet Public Library will host Vietnam War Veteran Bill Comeau who will share his book Duel with the Dragon at the Battle of Suoi Tre. A slideshow presentation will be followed by a Q & A session. Special edition, signed books with numerous photos will be available for purchase. This free event will be held in the Library Community Room at 232 Middle Rd., Acushnet, MA 02743.
This book chronicles the story of the members of Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division from their Basic Training days in early 1966 through their fighting as a unit in Vietnam. It includes stories about the soldiers who led during that year and other soldiers who came, served, and went home to lead normal lives.
