Fairhaven Kids Fest
Saturday, October 8, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lawn of Visitors Center and Fairhaven High School, 141 Main Street at Route 6, Fairhaven
Sponsored by the Fairhaven Office of Tourism and Millicent Library Youth Services
Kids Fest is an annual event that is all about fun for children and their grownups. It features free activities, handouts, photo opportunities, and entertainment, including Pirates of the Cape, characters from the “Magical Familia” by Ever After Storybook Entertainment, story-telling Vikings, and an Antique Fire Truck to climb aboard, as well as an array of vendor booths selling products geared toward children or selling food and beverages, baked goods, ice cream, etc.
Free Admission.
Vendors are selling products geared to children, children’s books by local authors, food, or providing activities/games for children.
Be sure to come in your best Halloween costume to enter the costume contest and parade at noon.
Halloween Costume Swap
By the Fairhaven Sustainability Committee. Pick out clean, used costumes and Halloween decorations that have been donated for re-use.
Quiet Space
Fairhaven Belonging Committee Sensory/Calm-Down Booth, for those needing a break from the excitement, with coloring, bubbles, photo backdrop, baby changing tent.
Learn About Microplastics
Climate Reality Massachusetts Southcoast, coloring sheets, learn about microplastics by separating plastic from sand, raffle, more
Other activities include pumpkin painting, with pumpkins sold by Barbosa Family Farm; crafts by PACE Child Care Works; Exekiel the Green, a member of the Obscure Council of Lesser Green Wizards and his pet dragon Balthazar

Fire Department Open House
The Fairhaven Fire Department will sponsor an open house in conjunction with National Fire Prevention week on Sun., 10/9, from 1–3 p.m., 144 Washington St., Fairhaven, 508-994-1428.
The public is invited to enjoy: Free food Sparky the Fire Dog, face painting, bouncy house, touch-a-truck, live fire demonstration.
