Summer is seriously trying to leave us. Ugh.
But I tried to get some summer in Ptown this weekend. It was a bit chilly, but, wow, that’s a fun town. It just has good energy. See page 6 for how we both got ourselves dumped in the water at Marconi Beach, and a fun little walking tour we took.
I admit, I did not know who Anne Hutchinson was, and it was fun learning about her.
Meanwhile, back at home, the state and town officials are finally going to take a look at Benoit Square to see if they can come up with traffic solutions. With the specter of the bridge replacement causing traffic to be rerouted to Howland and Main, it’s something that just can’t wait any longer.
There are two bridge replacement meetings coming up (see page 3), so it’s a chance for people to get a word in about it.
The Acushnet Selectboard is plowing through the articles for Special Town Meeting coming up in just a couple of weeks. Find that on page 16. Your tax dollars at work.s
We have lots of events this weekend and next. They’re kind of spread out, so make sure you look at each page.
And, please do not forget letters from our readers on page 22. My readers are the BEST! I could not have said it better myself (you’ll know which one I’m talking about).
We have a little story about a new business in town on page 18, and a quick shoutout to a 99-year-old (page 7), and a surprise ad on page 3 for a 95-year-old. Congratulations to you both.
There’s other stuff in here of course. Please be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News. Until week then..see ya,
