Save Taxpayer Money: Send Hodgson Into Retirement
With seven active lawsuits against Sheriff Hodgson, frequent payments made for positive accreditations, sponsoring non correctional related programs, travel and extra curricular activities, are there sufficient funds available for him to efficiently fulfill his elected role as superintendent of the incarcerated?
Due to the lack of systemic oversight and accountability Hodgson’s expenditures for his personal publicity, being cited and penalized for the violation of employees’ and the incarcerateds’ constitutional rights, and as purveyor of increased pensions for cronies and supporters, he has never been exposed or sufficiently censured for his mismanagement and deceptive boasts.
However, several non profit organizations, and governmental committees, have been investigating, researching and interviewing witnesses, during the last several years, and have uncovered alleged financial mismanagement, and exposed his seeming maltreatment of the incarcerated and many employees.
Unlike Hodgson, who continuously whines and reviles his detractors, and accuses all of political and personal agendas, they have all the documents, figures and statistics to support their allegations. Hodgson, always glib, and never at a loss to make unsubstantiated claims, does not produce any credible evidence to support his seemingly nonexistent programs, keeping the community safe, of being ever mindful of taxpayers expenses or that you “can eat off the floor” in the New Bedford Ash Street Jail.
But for these investigations, disclosures, lawsuits and focused attention, Hodgson would be successful in securing his re-election for another six years. But the voters can now discern the real truth and take immediate and corrective action by voting him out of office on November 8th. Sending Hodgson into retirement will insure the creation of a healthier and merit based environment for the hundreds of employees, lower the re-offending rate of the incarcerated, make the community significantly safer, and save the taxpayers millions of dollars.
