More than 150 people showed up for the North Fairhaven Improvement Association’s annual music night on Sunday afternoon, 8/21/22, which started out with pretty hot temperatures, but cooled right off as the evening wore on.
Organizers blocked off Adams Street around Benoit Square so people could literally dance in the street to oldies by Eddie and the Exciters. The square around the gazebo, sidewalk and street were filled with people enjoying the music, some food for sale, and each other’s company.
Sponsors included Alltrust Credit Union, Fairhaven Cultural Council and Mass. Cultural Council, Villa Verde, Cottrell Bros., Galaxy pizza.
The NFIA is a non-profit association that hosts several events throughout the year, including the Halloween Horribles parade and Benoit Square holiday lighting.
They are always looking for volunteers to help them with their fundraising events so they can keep their community events free.
The NFIA meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the old fire station at Benoit Square, 267 Adams St., Fairhaven. The next meeting is 9/15.
