Library Raffle
The Friends of the Acushnet Public Library are having a special raffle fundraiser during the month of August, in conjunction with the library’s summer concert series (listing follows). The Friends are raffling chances for five great prizes.
Through generous donations from local businesses, prizes include a $50 gift card to Gifts to Give, a $50 VISA gift card donated by the Acushnet Federal Credit Union, a $25 gift certificate to Roseland Nursery, and a gift certificate from the Mosquito Squad of Southeastern Mass good for a one-time treatment ($189 value). Additionally, a hockey stick signed by members of the Boston Bruins is one of the raffle items, and will be on display at the library’s main desk.
Tickets are $1 each, 7 for $5, and 15 for $10. Tickets can be purchased during the library’s Wednesday evening outdoor concert series, on August 17, and 24. Visit the Friends sales table outside before and during the concerts to purchase tickets to enter the raffle. Tickets can also be purchased during the week of August 22-26 at the library’s main desk. The winning tickets for each of the five raffle items will be drawn at the end of August. Support the Friends and your library by purchasing a raffle ticket for a chance to win one or more of these great prizes!

Scheduled concerts include:
• Wed., 8/17, 6–8 p.m. The Jethros realized their common destiny while collaborating in a backup band for mutual friends. Their original songs and unique arrangements are consistently lauded by critics of art, music, and architecture.
• Wed., 8/24, 6–8 p.m. George Piva is back with the G & Friends Quartet to round up our Summer Concert Series. This popular local group featuring George Piva, Jeff Gobush, Geoffrey Fortin and Ed Oliver will play a variety of blues, jazz, rock, roots and funk.
Concerts are held rain or shine under the new pavilion. Please bring a chair or blanket. Sponsored by the Friends of the Acushnet Public Library.
