Join us for New Bedford Ballet’s eclectic summer dance performance, A Recipe for Dance, on Friday, 8/5, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8/6 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at the NBB Community Theatre, 2459 Purchase St. New Bedford. Our studio’s instructors and advanced students will showcase their original choreography in this family-oriented, engaging, and endearing mix of dance styles.
Stone Soup is a children’s ballet that is perfect for the entire family. New Bedford Ballet artistic director, Rebecca Waskiel-Marchesseault, and New Bedford Ballet instructors Katherine Bickford and Pamela Mateus bring this classic fairytale to life as the entire family enjoys a visit to a town that learns an important lesson about community! The program also features an excerpt from Coppelia restaged by Alex Lantz and modern dance pieces choreographed by New Bedford Ballet’s advanced students under the direction of Emily Lovdahl. These young choreographers will entertain you with unique, innovative dances such as No Rest, This Bitter End, Lonerism, and Summer.
Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for seniors, students, and children. All proceeds from this performance support the New Bedford Ballet, a non-profit organization.
For 34 years New Bedford Ballet has continued its mission of providing classical ballet training for children and adults, granting scholarships, and educating the community in the value of the performing arts. Parents interested in enrolling potential students for the 2022-2023 season should consider attending the summer performance with their child. Registration packets will be available.
