The Acushnet Public Library announced on its Facebook page that the pavilion is now open for outdoor concerts, and held its inaugural event on 6/13 with a concert by the Ford Middle School Chorus.
The Acushnet Department of Public Works using CARES funds and the library’s gift account constructed the pavilion over the past year.
The summer concert series will be held under the pavilion and kicks off on Wednesday, 6/22. All concerts are on Wednesdays from 6–8 p.m. Concerts are held rain or shine. Please bring a chair or blanket. Contact Sandra Medeiros 508-998-0270, smedeiros@sailsinc.org

Scheduled concerts include:
June 29. The Pearly Baker Band is known for playing Grateful Dead music, but they don’t consider themselves a cover band — they play Dead music their way. Early on, Pearly Baker realized that the Grateful Dead had created an interesting musical template that can be used by others to raise the level of joy in the world, song by song, show by show. The quartet features Tim Richmond on bass guitar, Ken Richards on guitar, Mike Mahoney on guitar and Eric Costa playing keyboard. Sponsored by the Friends of the Acushnet Public Library
July 6. Cool Banana Wig is a five-piece Band for kids! Their interactive LIVE concerts focus on kids coming up and jamming with the band, playing a variety of homemade or unusual instruments. Of course, big kids are welcome, too! Join us for an evening of music and fun for all ages. Sponsored by the Friends of the Acushnet Public Library
July 13. The Montage Bleu duo featuring Kim Mitchell and Annette Almeida along with special southcoast musicians, Felix Rentschler and Joseph Mayer will play classic rock, folk rock, jazz standards, and popular tunes that you will know and sing along with.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Acushnet Public Library.
