The Texas School Shooting
Words can not express the depth of sorrow and grief, the parents, family members and friends are experiencing over the death of these innocent victims. Speaking for myself and my wife, I can trulyi sayi we are deeply sorrowful over their deaths.
With the passage of time we have a clearer picture of the events that led up to it and the response of the school officials and the police to it. The school was lax in leaving a door open, not having a security guard there, better yet, a trined and armed guard. I do give credit to the brave teachers who acted, thereby saving many students.
However, the same can’t be said for the police. What I am going to say does not reflect on the police in general. For the most part I have deep respect for the police. Their mission is to serve and protect. Every time the put on a uniform they put their lives on the line.
I find unconscionable how 13 police officers, many from the Uvalde police department can stand outside the door of the classroom where children were calling 911 pleading for help. The poilce officers in charge knew about these calls and did nothing, and then lied about it later. I can only say they will have to live with their consciences. Now, I wasn’t there. It seems they coiuld have fired at him through a window to distract him and then break through the door. What comes to my mind is the Benghazi attack on the American embassy in Libya where ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and two Navy Seals were killed. These brave men were at a CIA headquarters about a mile away and listened to his cries for help and went forward to help despite orders to stand down.
However, as bad as this incident is I believe it’s only symbolic of a far deeper more reaching condition: the morality of our society whereby there is no right or wrong, where everyone does what is right in his or her eyes. It seems to mein some respects we are living like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah where people were eating and drinking, buying and selling, giving in marriage, engaging in sexuality, immorality in total disregard of God’s law or commandments.
The truth be told I am old enough to remember a time when divorce and children born out of wedlock was considered unacceptable, we recited the Lord’s prayer in class. For the most part the bible was considered God’s holy word and held in high regard. In disregard and defiance we have sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind. Consider the results: 39% of Americn babies are born out of wedlock. For many of our children, gangs and social media have replaced the family structure.
Now, I am not one to say one political party is better than another, but when you have the present-day Democratic pary who in reality are socialist Marxists who want control over every aspect of your life who claim to care about life and yet will vote for abortion up to the moment of birth and thereby deny the most basic right of all which is life. Defund the police, install radical district attorneys who release violent criminals under their no bail laws as a reuilst murders, assaults, robberies, crime in their Democratic controlled cities is at an all-time high.
In the words of that great patriot president Ronald Reagan, freedom can be lost in one generation. It’s up to every generation to defend it. I believe they can’t be more prophetic. I say if we truly praty and call upon God he will hear us.
Finally, get informed and vote because elections have consequences.
