NEEDED: Perry Hill School Pictures
The Acushnet Historical Commission, a town board, is looking for pictures of the old Perry Hill School that once stood at the corner of Perry Hill Road and Mendall Road.
The school was originally built in 1814, then rebuilt in 1844. Then it was disassembled and the wood was used to build the American Legion Hall on Hope Street.
The Historical Commission has been searching high and low for a photo of the old school buildings. If anyone has one in their possession, or has a lead on where there may be one, contact Pauline Teixeira through Town Hall at 508-998-0200.
Stuff the Van a success
Acushnet residents did indeed “stuff the van” at the pet food drive held on 5/9/22 at Acushnet Middle School just a couple of hours before Town Meeting. The Acushnet Council on Aging and Animal Control asked for cat food, dog food, dog treats, guineau pig and rabbit food. The results did fill the van.
“How amazing is our little town?!” posted the Acushnet COA on its Facebook page. “This is just SOME of the generous donations we received at Monday night’s pet food drive. Without our residents this would not have been possible. Thank you!”
