Here we go again. Another crazy barely-made-deadline week. Apologies to the Fairhaven Selectboard. You were supposed to be on page 3, but, alas, time got away from me.
Catch up next week, okay?
Acushnet Town Meeting was just waaaay too much fun. Had to give that some good detail. Honestly, if you have chance to watch it, please do. I didn’t have room for the quotable quotes, but, there were definitely a few.
There’s some fun stuff in here, too. I think Margie is trying to get another award. See page 6 for some super cool pictures of a momma fox and her kits.
We have some sad news this week, too. Former Select Board member Dan Freitas died unexpectedly. It’s always sad when someone so young dies. He has a couple of daughters who are about in their 20s I think by now. Dan’s brother Eddie gave some emotion-laced detail on his Facebook page about Dan’s death. I included a little of that. Just enough to let people know what happened. I know Dan and I didn’t get along, but that was all about town business. This is a personal tragedy and it is sad any way you look at it.
There’s more in here of course. You’ll have to thumb through and see for yourself.
The big food drive with the USPS is this week (see page 5), and all the events are starting up.
