The Fairhaven Recreation Center held its annual flashlight egg hunt on Friday, 4/8/22, with 35 children registering for the event. Children were assigned two numbers and had to hunt in the darkened gym using flashlights to find the egg with the corresponding numbers. Participants received the a little goodie bag including chocolate, crayons, and coloring/activity pages.
After the hunt, children and their adults were invited to visit with the Easter Bunny, who waited patiently down the hall at the Senior Center.
Recreation director Warren Rensehausen said the numbers for all programs are picking up after the pandemic canceled so many programs and people are still cautious about crowded events. The flashlight egg hunt usually draws about 60 participants.
“People are concerned,” said Mr. Rensehausen. “But we’re confident that it’s going to turn around.”
Meanwhile, this year’s egg hunt was held indoors due to the wet weather.
