Over the past three weeks, members of the East Fairhaven School student in grades 4 and 5 have been collecting dog and cat food, toys, cleaning supplies and more in their Fairhaven Animal Shelter Pet Drive.

The students conceived of, organized, and ran the fundraiser, including creating posters and flyers and reminding their fellow classmates in daily school announcements to give generously.

Based on the impressive number of bags and boxes that lined the hallway, it’s clear they rose to the challenge.

The students also coordinated their efforts with the Fairhaven Animal Shelter to ensure they were providing much-needed products for the animals. By doing their part to help local strays, the students are living up to the famous words, which are oft-repeated at E.F.S.: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
