A tractor trailer crashed through a guard rail on a bridge in Weston and plunged into the Charles River on Saturday, 2/26/22, around noon. Dramatic video released by the State Police Association of Massachusetts shows the moment the 18-wheeler flew off the road and tumbled cab-first into the shallow water, flipped on its side, and ended up back on its wheels. The driver survived and managed to get out of the cab to wait for rescuers, thent was taken to the hospital for treatment. News reports indicate he was released and will recover. Preliminary investigation shows he was driving too fast. The truck is owned by R&F Transportation of Taunton and was carrying mail from the US Postal Service.
