TOWN OF ACUSHNET PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Acushnet Board of Selectmen will hold two public hearings at its meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in the Town Town Hall Meeting Room located at 122 Main Street, Acushnet, beginning at 4 p.m.
1. The hearing will be held at 4:10 p.m. This hearing is on the petition of Verizon New England & Nstar d/b/a Eversource.
To install one (l) JO pole 120/94.5, on the southeasterly side of Main Street. New location being approximately 593′ southwest of the centerline of Scotts Way; and is 56′ northeast of existing pole, 120/94; and is 81′ southwest of existing pole, 120/95. No. MA20221-44.
The installation of this intermediate pole is being requested to support the solar farm behind 550 Main Street.
This pole placement is necessary for the installation of a new solar farm.
2. The hearing will be held at 4:15 p.m. This hearing is on the petition of Verizon New England & Nstar d/b/a Eversource.
VERIZON NEW ENGLAND INC. and NSTAR ELECTRIC d/b/a EVERSOURCE ENERGY request permission to locate poles, wires, cables and fixtures including the necessary anchors, guys and other such sustaining and protecting fixtures to be owned and used in common by your petitioners, along and across the following public way or ways:
Hayes St: To place one (1) jointly owned pole 6/0.25 on Hayes St to facilitate service.
NECESSITY: To facilitate new service.
Wherefore they pray that after due notice and hearing as provided by law, they be granted joint or identical locations for and permission to erect and maintain poles, wires and cables, together with anchors, guys and other such sustaining and protecting fixtures as they may find necessary, said poles to be erected substantially in accordance with the plan filed herewith marked-VZ N.E. Inc. Plan No. MA2021-42.
Also for permission to lay and maintain underground laterals, cables and wires in the above or intersecting public ways for the purpose of making connections with such poles and buildings as each of said petitioners may desire for distributing purposes.
Your petitioners agree that space shall be reserved and maintained for the limited purpose of attaching one-way low voltage fire and police signaling wires owned by the municipality or governmental entity for public safety purposes only.
