It’s not too late join in! Sing the winter blues away.
Rehearsals began Feb. 7 for the Sippican Choral Society’s springtime “Mostly Mozart” concert, but dropping in a week late is not a problem. Everyone is invited—with proof of vaccination.
“Everybody can sing with us,” said SCS President Mike Chaplain. “Rehearsals start at 7:30 pm every Monday, at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 26 Hammond Street in Mattapoisett.”
The group wants to re-recruit all the members who understandably chose to “duck and cover” as a result of pandemic restrictions, as well as newcomers—as many as possible.
This will be the Sippican Choral Society’s 58th year of making music. It draws its members from towns all over the South Coast of Mass.
To protect everyone involved, the group’s rehearsals are limited to 45 minutes, masked, in a large, well ventilated church with room for everyone to keep their distance, Chaplain said.
The Sippican Choral Society is a volunteer organization, with a professional music director who can help all singers to develop their skills. You do not have to read music.
Proof of vaccination will be required at the door, and masks are essential. Specialized “singing masks” are available.
