We’ve got another boil water order. Yup, this is a new one. Hopefully, it’ll be over on Friday. Meanwhile, boil the water or get bottled water. See page 3 for details.
Okay, LISTEN UP!
We need Halloween yards. NO ONE contacted us… okay, one person did but I haven’t called him back yet. I know you home haunters are out there. If you want people to see your creation, you have to tell them about it. So…SEND IT IN! See details in the ad on page 3.
So, the big controversy this week is the Street Lamp Project that the Historical Commission is trying to get done. They got shot down at town meeting, so they are fund-raising separately for it. There are some questions as to why, how, etc., and if it’s all okay. Throw in a tourism director who thinks it’s a bad project and you’ve got…well, Fairhaven politics, complete with a committee chair trying to get a guy in trouble at work.
Now, I’m not making a value judgement on the lights, or…even the process, though I have my doubts.
In this space, I just have one question for the people who are so outraged at Mr. Richard for saying the project is “cheesy” and comparing it to Disneyland, etc.
Where were you when a certain fire department employee called me a fu—ing liar on social media?
I don’t recall the outrage then. No calls for a reprimand for him. Certainly no calls for an apology… oh, that’s funny. I mean, how cute are you to demand an apology now?
Guess it doesn’t violate the social media policy if it’s against the press? Maybe? It only counts if it’s against some people? Just asking.
We have a bunch of other stuff in here, of course, including BPW coverage on page 16, our fun cover story on page 12, and, well, you’ll see the rest.
And while you’re looking, be sure to notice who our advertisers are and tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News. Until next week then..see ya,
