The Fairhaven Animal Shelter held its annual yard sale on 10/9/21 and took in a healthy $900.
“Our little community always supports their animal shelter,” said Animal Control Officer Terry Cripps in an email.
The yard sale included all manner of items for pets, including crates, dog and cat beds, food bowls, clothing, etc. The money goes into the gift account and is used for a variety of projects at the shelter. Past projects include repairing the roof, painting lines in the parking lot, and renovations to the inside of the shelter.
Paris Lees was there on Saturday with her Great Dane “Bane.” Ms. Lees said the rabbits that were on the lawn for adoption had come from her rabbit. She had adopted the rabbit from the shelter, and the day after she got it home, it had nine babies. The runt died, she said; three were adopted; so five are available.
