This is a new project to begin collecting the really important history of West Island – OUR OWN HISTORIES! To start us off, we are focusing on the 1988 “Save West Island” effort that resulted in the east side of our island being protected from ever being developed into condos and a tourist hot spot.
Come and share your memories, information and memorabilia of this significant event that all of us benefit from today. Our goal is to share this important story and make it available for everyone’s future enjoyment. And if you don’t know how our Conservation Woodland came to be, come and learn!
