Correy Says “Thank You”
I would like to thank the voters of Fairhaven for your support. What we did together was something special and I would like you to know I appreciate every one of you. You gave me the opportunity to present myself to you in a transparent way and 785 of you made it known that you are not satisfied with the status quo. Yes we didn’t accomplish our goal. However, based on the overwhelming number of people who have reached out to check on me and inform me of the impact my campaign has had on them, I feel as though in some way the campaign was a success.
This was a campaign with no staff and just me hitting the streets. I would like to thank my wife Jennifer for her support and all that she did in this campaign as well. This has been an amazing experience.
Many of you have asked what’s next. I will be in front of the select board to make sure this town is aware of the importance of Diversity Equity and Inclusion. There are many people in the town who feel as though they don’t have a voice and they deserve to be heard.
I would like to congratulate Stasia on winning the election and wish her well on her journey. I would also like to thank Cameron Durant for his campaign and his friendship. I have enjoyed getting to know him and through which we have found we have much in common.
I promise the people that I will not go away. There is much to be fixed and one by one I am here to fix them. We have a beautiful town that needs to come together more than ever. I ask everyone to put aside the past year and work together to bring unity to the town.
Lastly I would like to thank many of those behind the scenes who worked with me by holding signs, writing letters and spreading the word. We need new energy and new voices. We need to embrace a movement of new ideas, not shy away or be afraid. We are leaving this town to our children and grandchildren, the fact is we don’t always know what’s best for them. They too have a voice and need to be heard.
