Wow. It’s a been a whole year. A whole COVID-crazy year since the last graduation.
This is our special graduation issue. Thanks to the school, we are able to publish all the senior pictures and their class picture (see page 18 to get started).
We have lots of pictures this year. We didn’t publish all the speeches in full because the speakers got to speak, in person, on the field. And I got to be there to hear them.
It was hot, though. Really hot. But I don’t think anyone actually fell down. I didn’t. My camera, however, took a dive. But, I digress.
This is supposed to be about the kids.
I just looked back at my brilliance from last year. Not bad actually. But this year, I’m going to go back to an old standard of mine, and keep it simple: Choose your friends wisely.
This year we saw a lot of big events that had people getting pulled along to do things they would not have done had they been alone or with a better group of friends.
Choose people who will stick by you but will also tell you when they think you’re wrong. Be a good friend and you’ll find good friends.
We have other stuff in here. The Selectboard meeting is on page 6. Oh…how I could go on! But I’ll wait until next week. All I will say is that the young people today will surely not understand why our town leaders are making as big deal about flying the pride flag at town hall. These kids are more accepting of each other with each passing year. Yes, I know some still bully and make fun of each other. But most of them get it. They know this anti-gay foolishness is just that: Foolishness.
I hope you enjoy this special issue. It was fun being back on the field, no masks, and able to have a normal conversation again.
We managed to get a couple of pages of happenings in, too. See pages 25 & 37 for that.
Until next week then…see ya,
