YIKES! It’s almost June already. This cold weather makes that seem impossible. But, they tell me that this week we’ll have some super hot weather…for a day? That’s how it’s been going, one day hot, one day cold.
It also means the high school graduation is coming up in a couple of weeks. This week, THIS Friday, TOMORROW, is the deadline if you want to get an ad in the special graduation issue. We published one last year to give the graduating seniors something special in such a crazy year. The school sponsored the issue so it could include the pictures of all the seniors and other special content. It was quite the keepsake issue…if I do say so, myself (ahem).
They decided to do the same thing this year and I hope it will be as great as last year. One of the things that made last year’s issue so good was the support from the parents and community. So many people ran ads in it.
So, let’s see if we can show this year’s class some community support. See details on page 3.
Speaking of page 3, this will be our last weekly COVID update. The state of emergency is ending on 6/15, so I think the weekly accounts are no longer necessary. We will still report on any significant changes, though.
Meanwhile, it’s Memorial Day weekend. We have no parade, but there are a few events that people may want to attend, and the cable access crew has created a video to commemorate the day. See page 5 for those.
We also have a town meeting coming up (see page 4) and it looks like it’s going to be a long one. I love town meeting, but not if it becomes a week long event. And I’m not particularly fond of the remote/Zoom thing either. Sitting at home has its advantages, but there’s no substitute for being in the room. And it’s way more fun in person. Let’s hope this is the last one that’s forced Zoom. I think it would be great if some people could still participate remotely, just not everyone, okay?
There’s other stuff in here, of course. But you’ll have to turn the pages. While you do that, be sure to notice who our advertsiers are so you can let them know you saw their ads in the Neighb News. Until next week then…see ya,
