Dear Selectboard members, especially Mr. Freitas,
We are two of the roughly 2500 Fairhaven registered voters who signed the petition to recall Mr. Freitas.
We are also among the 50 voters who signed the preliminary document initiating the process.
Mr. Freitas, please feel free to have your attorney contact us directly if he discovers any problem with our signatures.
We furthermore witnessed the diligence of the volunteers who stood outside the post office in rain or shine to follow the requirements of collecting the necessary signatures.
As such, we strongly urge you, Selectman Freitas, to keep your word — and follow the will of Fairhaven voters — and step down:
You have already wasted much time, and our taxes, on the failed Town Administrator search. Why waste more time and money?
Your continued presence on the Selectboard is deeply divisive, and a distraction from the important issues facing our town.
Resigning now is the only truly constructive action you can take to advance Fairhaven’s interests and the will of your constituents.
