As a young man I learned to overcome adversity and fight for what I believe in. The oldest child (13) to a family whose matriarch had passed on, I didn’t allow that to get in the way of what needed to be done. As an adult I have carried that forward, whether it be working to be accepted to the top business school in the country, or building a million dollar territory from nothing. I’ve pushed through all obstacles with integrity and a resilient mindset.
Our Fairhaven is in a similar position. Whether it be bickering amongst our leadership or decisions made without taking the pulse of the people, we are here suffering the consequences of ineffective leadership. We have been so focused on the behavior and inability to work together that we’ve lost sight of what matters and that is the will of the people.
We were all taught the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. However somehow that’s all been lost. I have been able to look myself in the mirror every day because I strive each day to be a better version of myself than I was the day before. I live each day simply striving to do what’s right. Whether that be what’s right for my family, what’s right for my career or what’s right for the people, it’s a simple mission that is lost on many.
Now is the time to reset the clock. It’s time to push aside the same ole rotation politicians and usher in a new era. Someone who understands how to interact with the people and hold himself accountable to serve their will. Someone who doesn’t have favors to friends to please, or agendas to serve. My experience achieving at every level will allow me to serve you.
Fairhaven needs a proven leader. I have been chosen to be a leader in every environment I’ve entered: Executive Director of University Issues, Vice Chair of the Sustainability Com-mittee, President of the National Society of Black Engineers, Team Lead for a 20 million dollar business…I’ve been chosen by my peers to lead at every level.
I ask for the opportunity to lead Fairhaven and fight for you.
