Once a bully, always a bully.
Remember when Selectman Freitas promised that he’d resign if the required number of signatures were gathered? He made that statement on social media, and again to WBSM radio (twice).
It should surprise nobody that his word means nothing. It should surprise nobody that he has no respect for the voter or official town policies or bylaws. He’s now lawyered up in an attempt to deny you, the voter, your right to recall an out-of-control Selectboard member before more damage is done.
Let’s not let that happen. He’s spent his tenure on that board bullying fellow board members, Town Hall employees and the public. Now it looks like he’s turning his bullying on our Town Clerk. The Clerk and their staff did their jobs admirably and to the letter of the law. Their certified results deserve to be honored and the thousands of signatures demanding his recall demand to be honored.
I ask you to join me in emailing the Selectboard at selectmen@fairhaven-ma.gov and demand that Mr. Freitas stop bullying the Town Clerk, resign and accept the will of the Town that just successfully recalled him.
Stop the bullying.
