New Tree Warden is “very enthusiastic”
Fairhaven has a new and very enthusiastic Tree Warden. I’m hopin he will be appreciative of any suggestions the residents of Fairhaven have.
The Little Bay Conservation Area (about 70 acres) was acquired in 1996 for the enjoyment of all. Since then, many of the older trees have succumbed to disease, insect damage and storms, hence this are has much deadwood that needs to be cleared out to make room for young trees to grow.
All Don C. Collasius, our new Tree Warden, needs to do is walk from Orchard Street to Arsene Street to get a first-hand look to see this area needs a good cleaning out of dead trees and branches.
The usable wood could be stored in lots and later auctioned off at the public works popular resale bargain day.
This would be a good way to start his tenure as Tree Warden and little my little this conservation area would come alive gain and look like Fairhaven really cares about its environment.
