The New Bedford Historical Society presents an afternoon with Beth Luey, author of At Home: Historic Houses of Central and Western Massachusetts, on Sat., 2/27, at 2 p.m. 

Beth will share the story of Elizabeth Freeman, affectionately known as Mum Bett, who successfully sued her owners in 1781 bringing about the end of enslavement for all African Americans in Massachusetts.
