Letter writer is misinformed and misquided
I’m writing to commend the Editor of this publication, the number one newspaper that Fairhaven turns to for FACTUAL local journalism. I stress the word factual because it takes an editor with the utmost respect for her craft to print the letter from the misinformed and misguided gentleman demanding the taking down of what he repeatedly refers to as the Congressional Wall.
After first reading that letter, I immediately took to my laptop to write a rebuttal, with the intent of expressing my anger and frustration with the blatant lies and overt racism printed. It’s 72 hours later because I’ve been struggling to find the words to respond. I’ve read the letter several times, highlighting the statements I intended to prove inaccurate and when I was done the entire text was covered in yellow and red. Should I have submitted my first draft of this letter, it would have required three pages to be printed.
In the end I can only say that I vehemently object to nearly every word authored by Mr. Warters. I urge everyone to refer to at least two news outlets outside of ones that they trust in order to get a more accurate and balanced perspective of what the other side thinks. It’s okay to still disagree but hateful speech and actions are not the way to convince any reasonable person that your opinion matters.
Diane Hahn, Fairhaven
