Our guest will be Jonathan Kurtis, MD, PhD, who will discuss “A Promising New Strategy for Combating Malaria.” Last spring, the Kurtis lab made headlines for its report on a novel approach to a malaria vaccine. The research stems from studies of children in Tanzania with an unusual resistance to malaria.
Malaria is the #1 killer of children globally. Jonathan is Chair of the Dept. of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Brown University and Director of the Lifespan Center for International Health Research.
