The Norlantic building at 7 Union Street near Union Wharf, owned by Fairhaven Shipyard, was demolished this week to make way for a new building. According to documents from the Planning Department, the company received the okay, through a special permit, to knock down four buildings totalling 34,522 square feet, and construct three new buildings totalling 28,560 square feet at 7 Union Wharf and 24 Water Street.
