The Leroy L. Wood School in Fairhaven surpassed its goal to feed 100 families this Thanksgiving. The students collected enough food to feed 137 families, which requires 24 items each, for a total of more than 3,000 items collected and donated to the Shepherd’s Pantry in Acushnet. Organizers filled up two full size pickup trucks to make the delivery. As a reward for their efforts, the students were entertained by a Pie Daddy contest on Wednesday, 11/21/18. A representative from each classroom entered the contest and had to devour the pie. This year’s Pie Daddy Champion was Justin Laurianno representing Mrs. Gilbert’s second-grade class.
